The Green Acres 4-H Club held its first meeting of the new year on Sept. 30, at the Vanden Dool home.
Jenna Duursma called the meeting to order. For roll call we had to introduce ourselves.
There are three new members in our club, with a total of 14 members. Club elections were held. President: Jaclyn Duursma, Vice-President: Austin Vanden Dool, Secretary: Emma Van Steekelenburg, Treasurer: Whitney Van Bezooyen and Club Reporter: Aaron Van Steekelenburg.
Our club leaders are Jason Slomp, Mike and Mel Vanden Dool. Plans for the year were discussed.
Our second meeting was held on Nov. 4 at the Van Bezooyen home. We received our project record books and diaries.
We reviewed how to complete our record books. We also discussed our Christmas party, which will be held during the holidays.
On Dec. 2 our club had a good time serving hot dogs and hot chocolate at the Picture Butte Midnight Madness event.
Our December meeting was held at the Duursma home.
We learned about how to care for our calves so that they are happy and healthy.
Our club is selling the Gord Bamford Christmas CD, a portion of the monies raised will go to our club and a local charity.
