The Picture Butte and District Agricultural Society will be looking for a new host facility for this year’s bench fair.
Traditionally held during Jamboree Days in August, the bench fair will have to be relocated from the curling rink to a new location while the North County Recreation Complex undergoes extensive renovations this summer.
Society president Roelof Scholten, re-elected to the position earlier this month, said due to the renovation work the society will have to find new locations for a number of Jamboree Days events.
The annual pancake breakfast will also be looking for a new home while the skating rink is temporarily out of use.
The society recently held its annual meeting and in addition to Scholten also re-elected to the executive were Everett Tanis as vice-president, Tanya Anderson as treasurer and Don Becklund as secretary.
Elected as directors were Celia Drake, Violet Forsyth, Erwin Raasch, Art Vance, Tambi Kellett, Leonard Dunn, Anne Gibbons, Bill Vogt, Diny Scholten, Dave Feist, Merle Goode, Anne Tanis, Eleanora Vogt and Teresa Feist.
During the meeting the society also handed out it aggregate awards from the 2009 bench fair.
Rachel Brouwer won the Shirley Stevens Memorial Youth aggregate award, Liz Stroeve won the Adult aggregate award, Anne Boras won Seniors aggregate award and Anne Tanis won the Dave Parker Memorial Grand aggregate award.
