Over 4,000 people attended the recent demolition derby, Carnage in Coaldale. The annual event is organized by the Kinsmen Club of Coaldale and is aimed at raising funds for community projects.
This year’s goal was to raise enough money to finish paying for the Spray Park in Coaldale.

Coaldale Handi-Ride planning to disband PDF Print

After a decision from Coaldale town council to keep the amount of operational support funding at $2,000 per month, the Handi-Ride may be forced to disband.
The transportation service, that caters to the mostly seniors in the area, has been available to residents for over 20 years, says Leonard Fast, Handi-Ride Association member.

Nine-year-old to enter writing competition PDF Print

Described as the quiet one in the group, with a kind and loving heart, nine-year-old Winter-Dawn van Ewijk, has always loved writing.
Since the time she was five, after finishing her first short-story entitled “Blueberry,” she has used writing as an outlet.

Lineup set for Int'l Air Show PDF Print

Organizers of the Alberta International Air Show are just waiting for their turn in the spotlight amid this summer’s events and attractions in the region.
The Lethbridge International Air Show Association (LIASA) has announced its full list of performers including 10 jet acts, for the event set for July 21-22 at the Lethbridge County Airport.

Major reno to Picture Butte town office PDF Print

Picture Butte residents will have to use an alternative access to the town office building for most of August.
The town is about to launch at major renovation project for the building’s main entrance. Mike Derricott, chief administrative officer, said the budget for the project is $50,000.
