Each summer avid derby-goers flock to southern Alberta to witness a one of a kind event of sheer destruction. Carnage in Coaldale, a demolition derby that fuels the need for speed and smashing entertainment is back, and will be held June 2, weather permitting.

Alberta Cup experience for Kate Andrews students PDF Print

As far as hockey experiences go, getting to play in the Alberta Cup was a great one for Carson Beers and Chase Bell, both 14 year old Kate Andrews High School students.
The Grade 9 students at the Coaldale high school are part of the school-based hockey program and both played Bantam AAA with the Val Matteotti Golden Hawks out of Lethbridge this year.

Small increase to 'Butte taxes PDF Print

Picture Butte town council has approved a one per cent increase in the municipal portion of taxes this year.
At last Monday’s town council meeting the mill rate bylaw was given final reading and local residents can expect to receive their 2012 tax notices by mid-June.

Kate Andrews displays drinking and driving impact PDF Print

Going into the first long weekend of the summer, kids at Kate Andrews High School observed what could happen when irresponsible decisions are made.
During a unique demonstration of a low-speed crash, Coaldale Fire Chief Andy Van Rijn showed kids the consequences of what could happen at speeds of just 50km/h.
