Coaldale Handi-Ride to continue operating PDF Print

Thanks to the support of local businesses in Coaldale, the Handi-Ride will continue to serve the town and its many senior citizens.
The Association, headed by Alex Hann and Leonard Fast, approached town council almost two months ago, asking for an increase in operational support from $2,000 to $3,000 a month.

County maintains fire ban $1,000 fine PDF Print

A procedural error and a time lapse have worked in the favour of two County of Lethbridge residents who will avoid paying $1,000 fines for burning during a fire ban.
In a report to county council last Thursday, Darryl Beaton, Emergency Services Coordinator, noted administration’s lack of front line expertise in bylaw enforcement led to errors being made in issuing the fines.

Picture Butte summer reading program proving popular PDF Print

With a waiting list of potential participants the Picture Butte Municipal Library’s Summer Reading Program kicked off this month in demand among children in the community.
Kaylee Hage returns for her second year with the program, this time as co-ordinator, and is joined by Laney Stronks as her assistant in her first year with the program.

Library fosters summer reading PDF Print

Parents and kids interested in keeping up with their summer reading should check out the Coaldale Public Library for their TD Summer Reading Program and Hot Book Club.
Activities for the Summer Reading Program take place every Wednesday, twice daily, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Picture Butte exploring regional wastewater line PDF Print

It may be five years in the future but Picture Butte town council has taken another step towards establishing a regional wastewater line.
During last week’s town council meeting a motion was approved to move forward on the third alternative offered by the town’s engineers for the future of wastewater treatment.
