A routine traffic stop led to a Coaldale man being charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Lethbridge Regional Police conducted a traffic stop around 10 a.m. on July 7 in the 1600 block of 19 Avenue in Coaldale.
While speaking to the driver police detected a strong odor of marihuana.
Following a subsequent search of the vehicle police seized a small quantity of marihuana.
Conrad John Neufeld, 21, of Lethbridge is charged with possession of a controlled substance.
He is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 18 to answer to the charge.
Regional Police have recovered a wide variety of solar lights and other lawn ornaments left at the Land O’ Lakes golf course July 5.
In an attempt to locate the owners, the police are asking anyone with missing solar lights or lawn ornaments from Coaldale to contact the Lethbridge Regional Police at 403-327-2210 quoting file number 10014993.
In other police news a Coaldale man arrested on a disturbance complaint June 24 was found by Lethbridge Regional Police to be in breach of bail conditions. On that Thursday evening around 11:30 p.m. police were called to 20 Street and 21 Avenue in Coaldale were 19-year-old Steven Leo Yanciw was found intoxicated.
He was arrested at which time it  was learned that he was out on bail conditions, from criminal charges, to stay sober and stay away from previous victim parties.
He was held over for another court appearance.
Police are also investigating a theft at a home in the 1700 block of 22A Street in Coaldale.
Sometime between 10:30 p.m. on June 24 and 8 a.m. on June 25, culprits stole five solar-powered yard lights from the front garden of a home.
