The Picture Butte Sugar Kings came up one win shy of capturing their home tournament Saturday night.
The Kings faced off against Vauxhall in the championship game and lost by 20 points with a 76-56 final score in Vauxhall’s favour.
Leading the scoring for the Kings was Lucas Jakober with 25 points, Broek Murray with 13 and Ryan Nummi with 12.
In semi-final action the Kings defeated Stirling 86-61.
Curtis Elaschuk lead Picture Butte with 29 points, Murray adding 23 and Jakober with 11.
In opening round play Friday the Kings defeated Senator Gershaw 84-53 with Elaschuk leading the scoring with 22 points, Jakober with 19 and Desmond Gerstenbuhler with 16.
The Noble Central Blades finished in seventh place Saturday with a win against Senator Gershaw by a 66-63 score.
Tyson Pariseau led the Blades with 21 points, Johnny Siemens had 18 and Kale Dorchak had 15 in the win.
The Blades lost in the opening round of the tournament 60-35 to Mount Baker with Siemens leading the scoring for the Blades with 11, Dorchak with 10 and Riley deBoer with eight.
Nobleford lost again in the Consolation semi-final game 76-59 to Willow Creek. Siemens had 16 in the loss, while Nathan deBoer had 14 and Pariseau had 11.
