Lethbridge County welcomes Benchmark Assessment Consultants Inc. as new property assessment service provider

Lethbridge County is currently transitioning from an in-house assessor to an external service provider for property assessment services. As the County’s longtime Assessor is retiring this year, this change ensures continued compliance with the Municipal Government Act and supports timely, accurate property assessments across the County. 

Following a competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) process, Benchmark Assessment Consultants Inc. has been selected to assume these responsibilities. As the largest assessment firm in southern Alberta, Benchmark brings significant experience and capacity, currently serving 48 other municipalities across the province.

Benchmark staff have already begun conducting on-site assessment activities throughout the County. These include:

-Property inspections for new development and building permits

-Annual re-inspections

-Follow-ups on assessment complaints

Property owners will now see Benchmark assessors carrying out these activities. All assessors will carry visible identification and will be driving vehicles marked with both the Benchmark and Lethbridge County logos.
