I am running for Coaldale council to bring a practical, common sense approach to the decisions that shape our community. That means managing growth responsibly, supporting businesses, and making sure people have the services and infrastructure they rely on. I also believe it is important that voters have a real choice in this election, with a new voice at the table to bring fresh ideas. Current and past councils have laid important groundwork, but Coaldale will benefit from a new voice to strengthen quality of life and keep decisions evidence based, fiscally responsible, and responsive to the community. This is my first time running for office, and I see that as a strength because I bring a fresh perspective shaped by real world experience, not politics.
I have lived in Coaldale for almost 10 years. Outside of work, I volunteer locally teaching martial arts with a group of dedicated instructors, and I enjoy working with people of all ages to build confidence and discipline. For more than 33 years I have worked with the same company in a variety of roles including entry level, management, technical sales and support. Through my work I have built long standing relationships with both large and small municipalities and businesses, including agriculture related industries, across Southern Alberta from Medicine Hat to the Crowsnest Pass. I have worked with people in every kind of role, from front line staff and tradespeople to senior executives and engineers. That experience has taught me to listen, weigh options, and make practical decisions, while also being open to new approaches when the usual ones do not work.
My goal is to bring an independent, practical, and collaborative approach, working with others to get things done. My focus is on making good decisions that keep Coaldale safe, welcoming, and a strong community with a quality of life that supports families, seniors, and businesses.
