Elections provide an opportunity for community voices to be heard and for change to happen. We all hold an obligation to contribute to the community we want to live in, to assist in the shaping of values, and in creating welcoming communities where all families can thrive. 

I took the last term off but am wanting to be part of Coalhurst council once more to lead and address a number of needs in our community. These are listed below as part of my campaign platform. I have been in Coalhurst for nearly 35 years, raised our son here and have actively participated in Coalhurst’s growth while advocating for our needs with the Province.

My Platform:

Building a Stronger Community Together

Vision & and Priorities

• Build livable, welcoming spaces for all residents

• Expand green spaces, parks and recreation areas

• Completing Coalhurst’s walking path networks

• Position Coalhurst as the premier bedroom community in southern Alberta

• Strengthen infrastructure through increased grant funding and investment

• Support strong relationships with our education systems

• Enhance recognition and support for emergency services, preparedness, and disaster readiness

• Represent Coalhurst’s needs at regional, provincial and national levels

• Strengthen accountability and stability at Town office to improve trust and collaboration with residents

20 years as member of Coalhurst Town council (including 14 years as Mayor)

Key projects completed with council:

• Paved back road, ensuring safer evacuation route

• Completed Highway 3 improvements, increasing safety

• Built first sections of community walking paths

• Upgraded storm drainage

• Planned upgrade and secured funding for water retention pond

• Supported the construction of the Coalhurst Spray Park which was completed in last term as mayor.

• Expanded community activities: first Canada Day celebration, Miners Days, first Family Day celebration, and Coalhurst Centennial

Regional Partnerships

• Successfully partnered with the County of Lethbridge and surrounding municipalities

• Represented Coalhurst at Mayors and Reeves – South Region

• Active role in Highway 3 twinning project

• Guided discussions through the Southern Alberta Waste Management

• BEW FCSS (Barons Eureka Warner Family and Community Support Services)
