County begins bridge replacement northwest of Picture Butte

A bridge replacement northwest of Picture Butte, scheduled to start last week, is now underway.

Located on Township Road (TWP) 11-2, east of Range Road (RR) 22-1, one of the bridge’s culverts has reached the end of its life cycle and will be replaced. During construction, Township Road 11-2 will be open to local traffic only between Range Road 22-0 and 22-1.

Westbound non-local traffic on TWP 11-2 will be detoured south via RR 22-0, Highway 519, and RR 22-1. Eastbound non-local traffic will be detoured north via RR 22-1, TWP RD 11-4, and RR 22-0.

The project is anticipated to be complete by the end of December, weather-permitting.

Motorists are asked to drive with care in the area and watch for workers and detours. For your safety and those working onsite, do not move barricades to drive through the project area.

This project is part of Lethbridge County’s annual capital budget and is funded in part through a grant. It is one of the ways the county is investing in critical infrastructure to meet the needs of residents, producers, and businesses. A reliable, safe road network is essential to our community and local economy.
