Emergency crews were called to a collision between a train and a semi-trailer truck just before 12 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 9.
The collision occurred at Highway 3 and Range Road 21-1 near Broxburn, just west of Coaldale.
“The initial investigation has revealed that the semi was stopped on the roadway and just didn’t clear the train tracks, so the train hit the semi truck,” said Cpl. Gina Slaney, Media Relations Officer for Southern Alberta RCMP.
Several packages and boxes were spilled onto the side of Range Road 21-1 near the intersection of Highway 3.
No injuries and no hazards were reported.
“Traffic wasn’t impacted for very long,” said Slaney, noting that RCMP are continuing their investigation. “They’ll look to see exactly what happened.”
