An open letter to Premier Danielle Smith

Danielle Smith, before you even think of separating Alberta from Canada, which I believe is just a ploy to divert Albertans’ attention to the mess that you have created with the health system, I suggest that you clean your house first. Revise or drop the bills that are not necessary and work for the people of Alberta for a change, and not for your own benefit. Why don’t you call a referendum on your leadership? When you took someone else’s seat in the Medicine Hat riding, were you worthy to run the province of Alberta? I appreciate why the Indigenous leaders are opposing Bill 54 since they have lost their treaty rights as a sovereign nation. Bill 50 that was introduced by the NDP should be amended and allow Indigenous people on their reserve to have a say in local elections. 

What right have you to order our new Prime Minister Mark Carney? Why don’t you give him a chance to run the country properly without your help? If you want unity between all the provinces and territories, you should forget what his predecessors did in Alberta that wasn’t in your favour and work with him to change things for the benefit of all. 

I would recommend to our Premier Smith to elect an Indigenous person to run the province to avoid separating from Canada. This way everybody will get along.
