Whoop-Up Days including new Whoop-Up Wrap-Up takes place this week

Whoop-Up Days is back and just getting bigger as southern Alberta’s largest summer fair adds an extra day of excitement in 2025. Whoop-Up Wrap-Up is all new for this year, as the extra day will feature the midway, food trucks and beer garden on Sunday, Aug. 24, extending the classic Whoop-Up Days summer fun. Whoop-Up Wrap-Up is just one of many new and returning exciting features as Whoop-Up Days begins on Aug. 19.

One of Lethbridge and southern Alberta’s greatest annual traditions, Whoop-Up Days runs from Aug. 19 to 23 at Lethbridge & District Exhibition. In addition to traditional favourites such as the West Coast Amusements Midway, the Original 16 Stage, the Lethbridge & District Pro Rodeo presented by Dennis’ Dirtworx, and the Siksikaitsitapi Powwow and Princess Pageant, this year’s Whoop-Up Days also features exciting new features such as the free Extreme Lumberjacks show, the revamped Marketplace, Family Fun Zone and Community Stage Area, the new Siksikaitsitapi Music Showcase and revamped Indigenous Marketplace, new food offerings through 6th Street Sweets, and more.

“Every year, our goal with Whoop-Up Days is to improve the guest experience and ensure we are creating lasting memories for all ages,” says Paul Kingsmith, Director, Event Development. “We’re really excited for all we have in store this year and by combining fan favourites and brand-new experiences, we’re confident this Whoop-Up Days will be one of the best yet, jam packed with great entertainment, incredible food, toe-tapping music and much more that will create life-long memories.”

Getting into Whoop-Up Days is easier than ever thanks to Gas King, as Free ‘Til 3 Fuelled by Gas King offers free gate admission from noon until 3 p.m. on Aug. 19, 20 and 21. Advanced-priced tickets are also available until Aug. 18 at Lethbridge and area Gas King locations and at whoopupdays.ca.

Whoop-Up Days kicks off with the annual parade presented by Park Place Shopping Centre at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 19. It begins at Park Place Shopping Centre and winds its way through downtown and north Lethbridge, ending at Galbraith School.

On-campus at Whoop-Up Days, visitors can experience the West Coast Amusements Midway; the Whoop-Up Days Marketplace, Family Fun Zone and Community Stage; Extreme Lumberjacks with daily shows at 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.; the Magic Bean Ag Show daily at 1:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., the Kids Pedal Tractor Pull daily at 2:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., the Siksikaitsitapi Princess Pageant on Aug. 19; the Siksikaitsitapi Music Showcase on Aug. 19, the Siksikaitsitapi Powwow on Aug. 20 and 21; Jumbo Bites and 6th Street Sweets food area; the Food Truck Zone presented by 1st Choice Credit Union; the Original 16 Beer Garden presented by Big Steel Box; Pure Power Wrestling’s Hot Summer Night on Aug. 22; live music on the Original 16 Stage including headliners Chad Brownlee on Aug. 23, Trooper and Econoline Crush on Aug. 22 and Trevor Panczak on Aug. 20 presented by Westco Construction; Indigenous artists on the Original 16 Stage including headliner Bebe Buckskin on Aug. 21 presented by PCL Construction; the Fireworks Finale powered by ATB Wealth and West Coast Amusements and more!

Whoop-Up Wrap-Up on Sunday, Aug. 24 is a brand new, midway-focused event that allows guests to get one last chance to take in the fun of Whoop-Up Days. Running from noon to 7 p.m. with just a $5 admission price, Whoop-Up Wrap-Up will feature the West Coast Amusements Midway, Jumbo Bites and 6th Street Sweets food area, a selection of food trucks and the Original 16 Beer Garden presented by Big Steel Box.

On-site parking for Whoop-Up Days is free, but limited, so visitors are encouraged to use public transit, ride shares, e-scooters or bikes; or carpool. On Saturday, Aug. 23, $1 from every Bird e-scooter and e-bike rental will go toward the United Way as part of the Ride it Forward campaign. For those with limited mobility, drop-off loops are located at both the south entrance and at the Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre. 

Advance pricing on tickets to Whoop-Up Days and the Lethbridge & District Pro Rodeo is available until Aug. 19. Advance pricing for Pure Power Wrestling’s Hot Summer Night is available until Aug. 21. Whoop-Up Days tickets and West Coast Amusements wristbands can be purchased in-person at any Lethbridge or Picture Butte Gas King location. Tickets are also available at whoopupdays.ca.
