Coaldale, Lethbridge and area residents no longer have to travel outside of Lethbridge County to create their dream kitchens or fulfill all their cabinetry and fine woodworking needs.
Hiebert Cabinets & Fine Woodwork, owned by John and Tenille Hiebert, is now open for business in Coaldale and ready to serve the needs of customers across the region.
Hiebert Cabinets & Fine Woodwork have their factory, where all custom, high-end cabinetry is made, along with their main showroom, in Bow Island – the location they have operated for 24 years. The Coaldale showroom opened earlier this summer, and recently held their grand opening late last month.
Today, the growing business serves customers in most areas across British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan, and have developed a strong rural connection and clientele.
“People feel quite comfortable calling us from rural areas. We deliver and install custom cabinetry in all those areas,” said John Hiebert, noting Coaldale’s proximity to the City of Lethbridge. “Coaldale is a business-friendly place. I think you can see the business opportunities that other people see in Coaldale and we’re one of them,” he added.
“It’s a unique community where you can see that everyone’s quite involved,” added Tenille Hiebert. “You can see how Coaldale seems to really care. I think we’ve been really fortunate to see how the town has been invested in us. There’s lots of things I think the Town of Coaldale does for the community.”
The Coaldale location is the first phase of a planned expansion that will include more showrooms across southern Alberta and possibly Saskatchewan. Potential locations include Calgary, Okotoks, Strathmore and Medicine Hat.
Hiebert Cabinets & Fine Woodwork held their grand opening on Sept. 25, with a celebratory gathering for the community and a ribbon cutting ceremony, that included Town of Coaldale Mayor Jack Van Rijn and members of town council. The Hieberts appreciated council’s attendance and show of support.
“I think it was a great turnout,” said Tenille Hiebert. “I think we had a lot of community excitement at the grand opening, but even before we had people stopping in and it’s been really neat to see.”
The opening of the Coaldale location helps fill a need for local customers, noted Jessica Barbour, social media director and designer with Hiebert Cabinets & Fine Woodwork in Coaldale.
“The fact that we’re here now to serve them closer, seemed like that was fulfilling the customer’s need,” said Barbour. “The community really celebrated that we we’re here.”
John Hiebert said the opening of the Coaldale showroom is a testament of the company’s resilience, which was delayed following a devastating fire at their factory in Bow Island last year. Coaldale, Lethbridge and area residents can now call and book an appointment at the Coaldale showroom to discuss ideas with their sales and design team. Hiebert Cabinets & Fine Woodwork can also work with customers in their home.
“What motivates us and what we love doing, is taking and creating kitchens that fit like a glove and that customers always feel like it’s a work of art,” said Hiebert. “When you’re dealing with a fully custom cabinet shop there’s no reason why you can’t detail your kitchen to fit you and the way that you live, work and play.”
In addition to cabinets, the company also custom builds doors and doorways, entertainment centres, baseboards and various types of furniture. “Every kind of wood is available. Some woods are most cost effective and some are more exotic,” he added.
The company can work with customers to create the finished product they are looking for, including design, colour, style and type of wood.
“It’s just knowing what a customer’s budget is and we’ll work with them on their budget and discuss their dreams and what they love. We can do some more economical projects or we can do some really high-end (projects),” said Tenille Hiebert, pointing out that when working with their customers, Hiebert Cabinets & Fine Woodwork has built a reputation on quality and working with a customer’s desired design and style. “In the end we want to make sure it’s exactly what they would like.”
Production time can take anywhere from a month to several months to finish a product, while design can also be factored in depending on a customers wants and needs, she noted.
“Hiebert’s is all about quality and customer service – that’s really what Hiebert’s is known for,” said Tenille Hiebert. “I think this showroom here in Coaldale helps provide better customer service for our Lethbridge, Pincher Creek, Coaldale customers that don’t have to drive to Bow Island anymore.”
With the new showroom now open in Coaldale, Hiebert Cabinets & Fine Woodwork is looking forward to serving the people of Coaldale and Lethbridge and area, helping them fulfill all their cabinetry and fine woodworking needs.
“We’ll be able to provide service, (with) what we feel gives Coaldale and Lethbridge people another option to buy really high-quality cabinets in a company that does show love to their customers,” said John Hiebert. “We love our customers and want to take care of them.”
