Dear Editor:
We’ve heard the trains blowing their horn for years. Please don’t stop it now. It belongs to Coaldale because we are the town that gives a hoot. We love to hear the different sounds, as the weather changes.
You can hear the sound of rain coming or if it’s windy. When it’s cold it sounds tinny or frosty. Amazing.
One night at 4 a.m., the train sounded like there was an echo. Beautiful. Also, some engineers really know how to make themselves heard. So, please let’s keep the whistles blowing.
It’s a good, safe sound.
