Stafford Lake boat launch to reopen

Beginning July 31, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., the day use boat launch at Stafford Lake Reservoir will re-open to the public as a result of a partnership between the land owner, the County, and the St. Mary River Irrigation District (SMRID).

The land owner will operate the boat launch, SMRID will provide shoreline clean up, and the County will provide dust control, signage, and porta-potties on a one year trial basis. This in-kind contribution has an estimated value of about $10,000.

Beginning July 31, with the on-site purchase of a $10 daily permit, boaters can launch their boat and park on site. We ask that users stay within designated parking areas and do not park on the road. The boat launch is accessible from Township Road 9-2. The facility is day use only no camping is permitted.

At the end of the season, the County, the landowner, and SMRID will meet to discuss the future of the site.
