According to a recent media release, the Lethbridge County fire hazard is very high as dry, warm and windy conditions persist and are forecasted over the next several days. Please postpone any burning activities until the fire advisory has been lifted.
If burning is necessary, residents must follow the regulations of the fire permit bylaw and fire permit. Residents are responsible to monitor fire continuously and extinguish it immediately should winds exceed 15 km/per hour.
Do not hesitate to call 9-1-1 should at any time a fire becomes uncontrollable.
If conditions persist, the county may impose a fire ban at any time. If a fire ban is imposed, residents must immediately and fully extinguish fires.
