The calendar is flipping to December this week, but before that happens, the Coaldale Cobra Central Alberta Hockey League teams played their final games of the month.
U11 Tier 3
On Friday night, the Coaldale U11 Tier 3 Cobras visited Picture Butte where they skated to a 9-4 win. Nova Mulder had the hot stick with three goals and two assists. River Pollard had a goal and an assist, Dominic Di-Loreto had a goal and an assist, and Nixon Noble had a pair of goals, Travis Jackson and Jake Waggener each had a single goal, while Rudy Wojszel, Alistair Poettcker, and Adam Klassen had one assist each. Elliot Hass faced 26 shots in the win.
On Sunday, the U11 Tier 3 Cobras welcomed in Irvine, but no game sheet was available on Monday morning.
The U11 Tier 3 Cobras head to Foremost on Sunday afternoon for a game against Bow Island/Foremost.
U11 Tier 6
In their lone game on the weekend, the U11 Tier 6 Cobras were in tough against Pincher Creek. On Saturday, Pincher Creek skated to a 10-2 win at the Snakepit.
Ryan Scriven-Hirsche and Jackson Batkin had the Cobra goals and Paxton Wiebe collected an assist. Peyton Rowley faced 22 shots between the pipes.
The next action for the U11 Tier 6 team comes on Saturday when they travel to Strathmore.
U13 Tier 4
In a close game, the U13 Cobras faced off against Foothills on Sunday afternoon which resulted in a 6-5 loss.
Ryley Kauenhowen continued his hot play with a hat trick and an assist while Ryker Orsten and Beckket Hurt scored the other Cobra goals. Makenna Malm, Kashtyn Megyes, and Zoey Caron had an assist each. Colton Peters faced 39 shots between the pipes.
Next action for the U13 teams comes on Sunday when Claresholm comes to Coaldale for an 11:45 a.m. puck drop.
U15 Tier 3
The U15 Cobras continued their unbeaten streak in the CAHL regular season with two big wins over the weekend.
On Saturday, they went to Claresholm and came home with a 9-1 win. Dalton Dame and Layne Kyle had four points each — three goals and an assist for Damen and two goals and two assists for Kyle. Gage Lyckman had three assists, Marco Burnett, Jonah Hass, Carsen Roy, and Jackson Stone each had a goal. Mason Van Ee, Lane Broderson, Hudson Adams, Ryder Bousfield, Kaede Wakefield, and Kenneth Galbraith each had an assist. Dakota Hurst was rock solid with 24 saves.
On Sunday, the Cobras welcomed in Picture Butte and Coaldale skated to a 6-3 win.
Dalton was dominant once again with a hat trick and two assists. Layne Kyle had a pair of goals while Van Ee had the other. Adams had a pair of assists, while Wakefield, Killian Erick, and Lyckman had an assist each. Logan Van Der Leest made 38 of 41 saves in the win.
The U15 Cobras have one game this coming weekend when they head to Lethbridge on Saturday for a 3 p.m. game at Logan Boulet Ice Centre.
U18 Tier 4
The U18 Cobras had a single game this past weekend when Pincher Creek travelled to Coaldale for a Saturday evening game. In a good offensive game for Coaldale, they would skate to a 6-2 win on home ice. Schae Van Buuren had two goals and two assists, Brett Hudey had a goal and two assists, Noah Olinek had a goal and an assist, while Nolan Klassen and Kaiden Damen had a goal each. Kevin Erick, Donovan Malm, Brody Braun, and Ryden Yackulic had an assist each. Brenden Duda was sharp in net as he turned away 33 of 35 shots in the win.
The U18 Cobras have two games this weekend. On Friday, they travel to Nanton for a 7:30 p.m. puck drop before returning home on Saturday to face off against Rockyford for a 4:45 p.m. game.
