August 15, 2023 Regular Council Meeting

During the 15 minutes “open floor” portion of the meeting, Barbara Gibson raised concerns regarding a manhole cover on Highway Avenue, informing the Council and Administration about the issue.

Lara Forsberg also attended the meeting to discuss worries regarding the purchase of Rose Butte apartments.

Delegations

Representatives from WSP Engineering, John Lobbezoo, P.Eng., and Stephen Van Essen, P.Eng., were present at the Council Meeting to address WSP’s request for an increased engineering budget for the Raw Water Reservoir Rehabilitation and Expansion Project.

With Council approval, the engineering budget for the Raw Water Reservoir Rehabilitation and Expansion Project has been granted an increase of up to $150,000.

Chief Administrative Officer Report

In the CAO’s report, updates were provided on the progress of the raw water reservoir project, the subdivision, completion, and grand opening of the pickleball court, payments made in relation to the mutual aid provided to Yellowhead County by the Nobleford & District Emergency Services Department, cellphone connectivity, and priority areas on Railway Avenue.

Public Works Report

The Public Works Foreman provided an update on the quotes received for electrical services at the canal pump-house, installation of posts at the Community Complex, and the installation of a cellphone booster for FCSS.

Councillor Reports

Councillor Jensen shared her experience attending the Pickleball Court Grand Opening. Councillor Mans reported on his attendance at both the Pickleball Court Grand Opening and Heritage Day events. Councillor Oudshoorn also attended the Pickleball Court Grand Opening and Heritage Day, providing a report on his participation. Mayor Boeder reported her attendance at the Pickleball Court Grand Opening and Heritage Day.

The upcoming dates for the next Regular Council Meetings are September 12, September 25, October 10, and October 24.
