Gary Scherer running for Coaldale council

I am running for council because I would like to see more housing and industrial development so we can improve our tax base and not raise property taxes. We need to keep our taxes as low as possible to ensure our young people want to stay in Coaldale, making the town their home for generations to come. 

Hello for those who don’t know me. My name is Gary Scherer and our family has made Coaldale our home for over 33 years. Part of those years I was employed with the Town as an engineering technologist, manager and for several years director of operations, where I managed the Town’s infrastructure and planning department.  

The skills I bring to council are many years in a municipal environment where I worked with many different councils of the day to ensure that the needs of residents were met. In my role as director of operations I was a problem solver, an extremely effective communicator and a proven leader in many different departments for the town.
