Coaldale Cobras hit the ice in Central Alberta Hockey League action

U11 Tier 4

The U11 Tier 4 team had a successful weekend as their offence came alive in both games.

In their first game, the Cobras saw an 11-6 win at home against Fort Macleod. Travis Jackson had four goals and an assist, Nova Mulder had a hat trick, Rudy Wojszel, Dominic Di-Loreto, River Pollard, and Alistair Poettcker each had a goal. Pollard and Adam Klassen also had a pair of assists, while Nixon Noble and Brayden Zasadny had a single assist.

The offence continued in their second game of the weekend where they laid a smackdown on Crowsnest Pass in a 19-1 win. Pollard had seven goals, Mulder and Jackson had four goals each, Zasadny had two goals, and Poettcker and Wojszel had singles.

Wojszel, Poettcker and Di-Loreto, and Jackson also had three assists each, Mulder and Zasadny had a pair of assists, while Klassen and Noble had one each.

The team now sees Vauxhall visit on Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m.

U11 Tier 5

The U11 Tier 5 Cobras were blanked 11-0 at home against Foothills on Saturday morning. Ryan Scriven-Hirsche faced 38 shots between the pipes.

The team will return home on Saturday night with their opponent to be announced.

U13

The U13 Cobras had a tough weekend where they dropped both of their games.

In a road game against High Country, the Cobras battled, but ultimately fell 8-5. Ryley Kauenhowen had a Patrick, while Ryker Orsten and Gracey Palaschak had singles. Palaschak also chipped in an assist, while Kaden Paul’s, Makenna Malm and Payden Whipple each had an assist. Brant L’Hirondelle was in net for the Cobras.

The next game saw Coaldale welcome in Irvine, which resulted in a lopsided 19-4 loss. Kauenhowen had a pair of gaols while Orsten and William Thompson had the other goals for Coaldale. Beckett Hurt and Caleb Burton found the scoresheet with an assist each.

The team’s next game comes on Sunday at home at 9:30 a.m. with the opponent to be announced.

U15

The U15 team aced Bow Island/Foremost on Saturday night. Gamesheet was not available Monday morning.

Next games see Coaldale visit Bow Island/Foremost on Saturday night and then welcome in Picture Butte on Sunday at 12:15 p.m.

U18 

The U18 Cobras also saw an 0-2 weekend.

Coaldale first hit the road to Pincher Creek for a match against Pincher Creek Red, which resulted in an 8-2 loss. Kevin Erick and Schae Van Buuren had the goals for the Cobras. Hecto Peralta-Lopez and Kyler Stroeve had assists. Brenden Duda and Ty Befus both played in goal during the game.

In the last game of the weekend, the Cobras were shutout 3-0 at home against Foothills. Duda got the start for the Cobras and faced 59 shots.

The U18 Cobras head to Raymond on Friday and welcome in Lethbridge on Saturday.
