Coaldale Minor Hockey teams continue CAHL season over weekend

The Central Alberta Hockey League is still rolling along and Coaldale Cobra teams were back on the ice.

U11 Tier 3

The U11 Tier 3 squad had the weekend off and will return to the ice this weekend with a two-pack of games. On Saturday, the team travels to take on Taber and then return home on Sunday morning for a game against Redcliff at 9:15 a.m.

U11 Tier 6

The U 11 Tier 6 team had one game on the schedule this past weekend when they hit the road to face Redcliff. No game sheet was available on Monday morning.

The team’s next games come on Jan. 29 when they welcome in Taber on Jan. 29 and Jan. 30.

U13

The U13 Cobras were also off this past weekend as they gear up for their final game of January. On Friday night, the team will host Claresholm for a 5:30 p.m. puck drop.

U15

After a single game on the weekend, the U15 Cobras were unable to secure another win.

On Saturday evening, the team hit the road to Claresholm and the home team was able to produce a 7-5 victory.

The Cobras saw Jonah Hass collect a hat trick and an assist, while Carsen Roy had a goal and an assist, Layne Kyle had a single goal, and Gage Lyckman, Dalton Damen, Abby and Kenneth Galbraith all had an assist. Dakota Hurst made 23 saves for the Cobras in net.

Before January wraps up, the U15 Cobras have another pair of games. On Saturday, the team has a home game against Pincher Creek with an 11:45 a.m. puck drop. The team wraps up the month with an away game against Picture Butte on Sunday afternoon.

U18

The weekend saw a pair of games for the U18 Cobras.

On Friday, the team hit the road to take on Rockyford, which resulted in a 5-0 loss. Brenden Duda was in between the pipes for Coaldale and the netminder was busy as 66 shots were fired at the Cobra goal.

The team continued its road swing on Sunday when they travelled to Airdrie. No game sheet was available on Monday morning.

The U18 Cobras have two final games in January, both at home. On Saturday, the team welcomes in Chestermere for a 4:45 p.m. puck drop. They then have a rematch against Rockyford on Sunday with another 4:45 p.m. puck drop.
