Copperheads wind up season

Posted on March 4, 2014 by Sunny South News

The Coaldale Copperheads’ season ended this past weekend, as they lost in a double overtime 4-3 situation against Okotoks.

One thing the Copperheads are not shy about is going into overtime in the playoffs the past years. It is a competitive affair that brings much excitement for all those involved. The Heritage Junior League is evenly matched in the south division throughout the whole year therefore, tight for teams to make playoffs. The team is super proud to have battled through the second round and are holding their heads high. Team staff’s goal from this point is trying to locate bodies for our 14/15 team to take us to the next level. Executive staff members report they’re dedicated for the “long haul” or until they win a championship that is for the town. Thank you to the four overage players on the roster who have completed their opportunity to be a Copperhead due to age limit. These players include: Bryce D’Agnone, Clayton Tilleman, Brandon Piper and Daniel Wenham. They truly are fine gentlemen that brought lots to the team and are wished the best in the future. Thanks as well to this year’s coaching staff and game day staff volunteers for helping bring this team to where it is today. When you witness the stands packed with fans as much as we did this entire season; we know we are doing something right for this community to enjoy and offering young men a chance to play at a higher level of hockey.

If any fans or sponsors are interested in attending the year-end award social banquet please e-mail the team at coaldalecopperheads@hotmail.com or phone 403-393-3129.

Watch for updates on the team’s website for information on date and times. The Copperheads are looking forward to next year with the community and a thank you all again for your support.
