Earthlings — take me to your leaders

In southern Alberta, agriculture fuels the evolution of the province. In northern Alberta, oil and gas calls the shots, which trickles down to the rest of Alberta.
In the U.S., violence is a major cause of the de-evolution of the country, which trickles everywhere throughout the rest of the world.
Across the globe — terrorism and war dictates how life is lived by many, as peace is but a pipe dream and delusions of grandeur — sadly, unobtainable in this day and age, it seems.
World Wars and an abundance of regional strife now and then throughout parts of the world are remnants of Earth’s checkered and erroneous past, for those who survived it. We mustn’t repeat history but some moments in history are nothing compared to today’s ills of society. We are but a planet on a path of self-destruction.
Using Christianity’s moral high ground, so to speak — there are the “seven deadly sins,” which followers are supposed to buy into religiously. Let’s take a look at a few.
Greed, gluttony and Envy are indeed similar aspects. One, is an individual’s desire to have more, more and more — “mo money, mo problems.” The other, is another individual’s want of somebody else’s material things. An individual’s want of somebody else’s significant other could be considered Adultry (a commandment but that’s neither here nor there).
To use the words in sentences – “Earthlings are greedy and always want their cake and want to eat it and someone else’s cake too” or “our greed has led us astray, as the world gasps for one last breath because of our collective use of all its resources, natural or otherwise.” “That guy is envious that other guy has a sports car or mansion in the hills or has a better job or hotter significant other.”
It used to be many residents of other countries around the world were envious of the so-called “American way of life.” Nowadays, America is not as beautiful as once envisioned to those around the world and even for Americans living from paycheque to paycheque. North American greed hasn’t made other countries envious of it, it has made other countries loathe many aspects of living the dream, whatever that was or is.
One of the big kahunas of the biblical kind is don’t kill, as it is frowned upon. But, that’s not only religiously-based, that’s just a no-brainer. But, killing is happening everywhere at any given time and at any given place and it scares the heck out of us. And, so it should. Let’s face it, the world has never been the happiest place on Earth, but today Earth’s inhabitants are being bullies and are being bullied left, right and centre — 24/7, 365 days and nights a year. Maybe, there’s an app for that?
Sloth, could be as simple as society’s apathetic views on voting. Many would rather sit back and watch “Storage Wars” or “Duck Dynasty” rather than give a darn about what’s going on in town, around the province or in the country or even in their own backyard — let alone across giant waters and/or land masses.
Society needs to take a long, hard look at its eventual premature demise. Earth’s inhabitants need to remember how to be moderate, and shiny happy people before it’s too late.
Negativity spawns more negativity and the vicious cycle spins around and around and where it stops — nobody knows.
