The Glorious Sons are on an 18-show trek to Vancouver and back home with a stop in Coaldale Mar. 21 at Sidelines Bar and Grill with special guests Teenage Kicks. With a producing credit from The Trews’ frontman John Angus Macdonald — the hit “Mama” is rising up the charts all over Canadian rock radio from coast-to-coast. “It’s exciting and it’s going to be a good time for sure and this is our first headlining tour so we don’t totally know what to expect but it’s going to be a learning experience,” said lead singer Brett Emmons, who also plays the piano and harmonica, adding this is the band’s second time touring Western Canada. Emmons said audiences in southern Alberta should expect a very high energy and gritty rock and roll show, as the band performs a plethora of great rock songs currently heard on radio stations across the province. “Our first single ‘Mama’ went to number six on rock radio charts and our second single is sitting at number two. It’s called ‘White Noise.’ We’re hoping that it’s going to be at number one in the next couple of weeks,” he noted.
The Glorious Sons have been together for the past two years and according to Emmons the band loves being a part of the Canadian music scene. “You’ve got great mentors to look up to,” said Emmons, adding it’s a scene of its own. “Regardless of what kind of success these Canadian bands have in the United States it’s a very unique scene and its own blend of rock and roll and it produces great loyal fans all over the country that love to see a good show and love listening to Canuck music. You couldn’t really ask for any more of a supportive scene.”
By the end of 2014 the band hopes to release their first full-length album and in the meantime The Glorious Sons plan to keep grinding it out playing rock and roll music for loyal fans across Canada. An evening with The Glorious Sons. Show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance and are available to purchase at Sidelines Bar and Grill in Coaldale and all Gas King locations in Lethbridge or online at http://www.Ticketweb.ca.
