New Year’s resolutions

Posted on December 30, 2014 by Sunny South News

2014 is history. The following are New Year’s resolutions from some of Lethbridge County’s local municipal politicians and town staff.

Town of Picture Butte

“I’ve set a goal to run my first half-marathon in 2015,” said Mike Derricott, chief administrative officer for the Town of Picture Butte.

Derricott added he also hopes for the health and safety of his family and friends in the New Year.

According to Picture Butte Mayor Wendy Jones, her top priority in the New Year is to try to find something positive in every situation.

“Positive thoughts bring positive energy. You can well imagine in my position at times this is difficult. Hopefully, I can try to hold onto this all year,” she said.

Jones said her hopes for the New Year are to keep moving the town forward.

“Growing — but sustaining it as the safe, friendly environment we have all come to take for granted.”

“I have three of my four children living here in Picture Butte and all eight of my grandchildren are still living here. If history repeats itself, I have many years of ancestors calling Picture Butte their home,” added Jones.

Town of Picture Butte Coun. Teresa Feist wishes and hopes 2015 is a very prosperous and happy year for all.

“Best wishes for an awesome 2015 from our family to yours,” said Feist.

Town of Coaldale

Town of Coaldale Coun. Roger Hohm said he doesn’t usually make New Year’s resolutions.

“I can never keep them but with retirement pending I am resolving the — devote more time and energy to the needs of family, friends and non-work related activities,” said Hohm.

Coaldale Mayor Kim Craig looks forward to a prosperous New Year for the town.

“I resolve to increase commercial development in Coaldale in 2015,” said Craig.
