Was it Colonel Mustard, Miss Scarlett or Professor Plum with a candle stick or lead pipe in the study or conservatory?
Of course board game enthusiasts would know the reference to the classic murder mystery “Clue.”
In Coaldale — murder, mystery and mayhem will be running rampant during the St. Patrick’s Day Murder Mystery and Spaghetti Supper featuring the Drama Nutz presented by St. Ambrose Mar. 19.
Unfortunately, the St. Ambrose Hall Building Committee were told they couldn’t hold any more dances in the gymnasium at St. Joseph’s School but the group could plan meals, plays and the like that wouldn’t scuff up the gym floors. So, a murder mystery fundraising event was born.
“We’ve had the Drama Nutz, which are doing this, we’ve had them in the past and we really enjoyed them. They were quite good,” said Darlene Beler, one of the fundraiser organizers.
Participants in the evening can expect to be involved, Beler noted, but she doesn’t quite know what to expect, as this will be her first time attending such and event.
Funds from the evening will go into the hall building fund, which is growing, Beler said.
“It’s taken us a long time but it’s sure speeding up now,” Beler said, adding a big gala will also be held this fall as another fundraiser. “And, we have something planned for the summer.”
Cost for the murder mystery dinner is $40 a ticket and it includes live interactive entertainment and a spaghetti dinner and door prizes.
Tickets can be purchased at the St. Ambrose Church office or by calling Darlene at 403-345-2596 or Ellen at 403-345-2610
Doors open at 6 p.m. Dinner is at 6:30 p.m.
