With a nation-wide strike looming at Canada Post, municipal officials are making arrangements to handle residents’ payments.

Lethbridge county tax payments are due July 31, officials pointed out. But whether the postal service is operating or not, payments can be made weekdays at the county office.

Post-dated cheques will be accepted, officials added, and there’s an after-hours mail drop box at the building’s south entrance. Payment can also be made at most financial institutions, as well as online or by telephone banking.

Penalties for late payment will apply even if a strike continues, they added.

For city residents, property taxes are due by June 30.
