Things were not all tickety-boo Monday night in the tiny southern Alberta Hamlet of Shaughnessy, as its resident Tickety-Boo convenience store was robbed.

“At approximately 8 p.m. last night (Sept. 12), the Picture Butte RCMP received a call from the owner/manager to report they had been robbed by a lone male with a firearm,” noted Staff Sergeant Tom Howell, of the Picture Butte RCMP detachment.

Howell added the individual demanded cash from the register and the lone clerk, at the time, handed the cash over to the male and the male departed on foot.

“We are not sure if he departed on foot to where he was going or just to a vehicle. We’re still looking at that,” Howell explained.

With the firearm, Howell said, it is unknown at this time if it was real or an imitation.

“There was no other violence that occurred. We’re not releasing how much money was taken,” he said.

The RCMP are currently following up on leads to possible suspects.

“There was video surveillance and we are using that for one of our avenues,” Howell said.

Shaughnessy is located approximately 25 kilometres north of Lethbridge on Highway 25.

Anyone with information about this robbery or any other crimes can contact the Picture Butte RCMP at 403-732-4449.
