Despite COVID-19 travel restrictions, Santa Claus will be able to come to town.
While the pandemic has put a damper on many holiday traditions, the Clauses and the elves has been respecting federal health guidelines and have been self-isolating at the North Pole in order to make the big journey on Christmas Eve.
“Santa is an “essential service” in Canada and has been respecting the health and safety practices to be able to safely deliver presents to children,” said Tammy Jarbeau, a senior media relations advisor with Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada. “Santa understands that children might be concerned about the holidays during the pandemic and is thankful to them and their families for following the health and safety practices.”
Santa Claus will be taking care to abide by the health restrictions in each community he visits.
