There were a handful of Coaldale Cobra teams in Central Alberta Hockey League action this past weekend as the season continues.
U11 Tier 3
The U11 Tier 3 squad had the past weekend off from CAHL action.
The Tier 3 Cobras next action comes on Feb. 12 against Bow Island/Foremost and Feb. 13 against Picture Butte.
U11 Tier 6
The first weekend of games in February saw the U11 Tier 6 Cobras get into a pair of games.
On Friday night, the team hit the road as they took on Redcliff. The home team would see their offence take over the game as they collected a 13-2 win over Coaldale. Ryan Scriven-Hirsche had a goal and an assist while Karli Ohlmann potted a single goal. Peyton Rowley got the start in net and made 18 saves.
The Cobras wrapped up their weekend in Chestermere on Saturday night where they bounced back from the previous game with a 6-0 win. Jackson Batkin was on fire with four goals and two assists, Scriven-Hirsche and Marshall Coquet had a goal each, and Ohlmann had another assist. Mira Anderson was the starting Cobra netminder.
The U11 Tier 6 Cobras continue the CAHL season next weekend with two more games. Saturday sees the team head to Pincher Creek before returning home on Sunday for an 11:45 a.m. puck drop against Strathmore.
U13
The U13 Cobras suited up for two games this past weekend.
On Friday, the team was on the road to take on Pincher Creek which resulted in an 18-4 win for the home team. Ryley Kauenhowen had two goals and an assist, Ace Pezderic had a goal and an assist, William Thompson had a goal, and Payden Whipple, Gracey Palaschak, Kaden Pauls, and Zoey Caron had an assist each. Brant L’Hirondelle was about as busy as a goalie can be as the Coaldale netminder faced 99 shots and turned away 81 of them.
The team returned to the ice on Sunday when they hit the road to Claresholm. No game sheet was available on Monday morning.
The U13s are back this coming weekend for a pair of home games and a road game. On Friday, Pincher Creek comes to town for a 5:30 p.m. game and then on Saturday, Fort Macleod is in Coaldale for an 11:45 a.m. puck drop. The weekend wraps up with a rematch against Claresholm on the road on Sunday afternoon.
U15
No CAHL games were on tap this past weekend for the U15 Cobras.
The team returns to the ice on Feb. 13 when they welcome in Claresholm for a 4:45 p.m. puck drop.
U18
It was an off weekend for the U18 Cobras in terms of CAHL games.
The next action for the U18 Cobras comes on Feb. 11 against Pincher Creek on the road and Feb. 12 against Nanton at home with a 4:45 p.m. puck drop.
