Coalhurst and area residents are ready to celebrate Miners Days 2026.

The annual summer festival takes place in Coalhurst July 24-25 and includes a variety of festivities and activities for the entire family including a parade, pancake breakfast, Coalhurst Fire Dept. Open House and fundraising barbecue, face painting, lawn games, food trucks, laser tag and more.

“Miners Days is our town celebration. It brings a lot of community pride, it brings everybody together and it’s really an opportunity to celebrate our past and our present, and celebrate where we are as a town,” said Coalhurst Mayor Deb Florence.

The event welcomes hundreds of local residents each summer, and draws visitors from across the region, noted Florence, pointing out the many family-friendly activities, including a new event this year, with the Lethbridge Public Library Bookmobile.

“The Lethbridge Public Library Bookmobile is putting on an Outdoor Escape Room at Imperial Meadows Park as part of Miners Days,” she said. “It’s like a challenge room – it’s very cool and very unique.”

In addition, she noted several partnerships that help make Miners Days a great success every summer. They include FCSS and their activities, the Lethbridge Public Library, who will have their Bookmobile available, the Coalhurst Fire Dept. is presenting an Open House and there will be a special performance from the Lethbridge Community Taiko Association.

“We do get a great turnout – we get (more than) 1,000 people. The parade is the biggest turnout, people love to come out for our parade,” said Florence, noting the many people who gather on the streets for the parade and Miners Days festivities. “We are very excited to visit with our residents and to welcome visitors. We are looking forward to the fun and we’re really excited to celebrate with out town.”
