The Coaldale Copperheads continue to dominate the HJHL south division.

Two more solid wins this weekend fortified  their first place standing in the league and the south division.

This now puts them onto a current eight-game winning streak.

Saturday night the Snakes had a 5-1 strangle hold lead over the Strathmore Wheatland Kings at the end of the first period, which led to an eventual 6-3 win.

The Snakes outshot Strathmore 50-33.

Connor Gross led the charge with three first period goals. Singles came from Dustin Houghton, Colby Murray and James Price.

Sunday night the Copperheads embarrassed the Banff Bears 11-3 with James Price leading the offence with four goals.

The Banff Bears roster included a Lethbridge Hurricanes prospect, which was added to their roster and the player was on the ice Sunday night.

Next week the Copperheads (16-3-1) head to Airdrie Nov. 21 for an away game.

Then it’s back on home ice Nov. 22 at 8:30 p.m. for a match up with the second place Okotoks Bisons (13-6-0). This will be a super important game for both teams.
