County teams score on the ice

Coaldale Copperheads are hosting a Christmas Bake Sale this coming Saturday.
This is a team fundraising event open to the public to participate by either donating baked goods or to purchase. The sale will take place in the arena lobby from 6-10 p.m.
Donations can be dropped off earlier, if more convenient, by calling 403-393-3129.
At 8:30 p.m., the Copperheads will be facing off against High River Flyers on home ice.
What a perfect opportunity to come watch one of the final four remaining regular season home games. A reminder — those season game tickets will not be valid during playoffs.
This past weekend the team was 1-1 falling on the road against Okotoks Bisons 6-3 and winning Banff at home 7-3.
League stat-wise, the team is currently at 15 wins and nine losses siting in the top three spots of the south.
The Picture Butte Shimek Services Initiation #1 Blades headed to Taber this weekend for a tilt against the Oil Kings, where they walked away with an 11-7 win.
Netting three goals a piece were Brody Trotter and Devin Groeneboom. Jayden Quinn put in two and singles came from Emma Groenenboom, Ryan Serfas and Tate Serfas. The Blades host their home tournament this upcoming weekend.
The Picture Butte Masterfeeds Atom Blades were in action this past weekend at the annual Duchess tournament, where they finished the weekend 1-2.
In the first game, the team had a strong win against the Medicine Hat Blackhawks and handed them a 16-2 loss.
Scoring was Karsen Haney with four, Riley Hillaby with three, Rhett Serfas and Cam Hillaby each with two and singles from Evan McLeod, Connor O’Donnell, Aspen Tresierra, Matthew Reiter and Kourtney Serfas.
In the second game, Butte took on the host Dutchess and were set back 10-3.
Trevin Stroeve led the way with two goals and Riley Hillaby added a single.
On Sunday morning, the Blades battled their Spud league rival, the Foremost Flyers.
After falling behind in the first, the kids fought back but fell to their opponents by a score of 5-4.
Karsen Haney, Riley Hillaby, Cam Hillaby and Rhett Serfas all had singles in the game.
Next up for the Atom Blades is a game against Raymond on Thursday.
The Picture Butte Witdouck Farms Midget Blades travelled to Taber on Sunday, where they were handed a 7-5 loss.
Points earned in the game came from Jared McCloud and Landon Veluw with two each and Noah Braun, Phoenix Del Valle, Kyle Davies, Jesse Shoemaker and Tristan Heins all contributed one point. Reed Graham faced 41 shots in the loss.
Wilbur Ellis Picture Butte Peewee Blades took to the ice for three games this week.
The first was against Cardston, where the Blades easily overcame the Thunder. It was a team effort with the Blades winning 17-7.
Next up, was the Warner Sabres. Aidan Peterson was solid between the pipes.
Riley McCloud and Logan Hillaby were good for three points. Ryan Holm, Nathan Harrington, Nicolas Rudelich, and Hunter Van Vaerenbergh all added a point to their totals. The Blades won 6-3.
The final game of the weekend was against the Magrath Chiefs. The team had a tough time against Magrath’s fantastic goalie.
Rudelich started off the scoring followed by Hillaby, Holm and Caden Heins but it wasn’t enough and the Chiefs took the win 8-6.
