Tryouts for Copperheads go in early September

Coaldale Copperheads

The Heritage Junior Hockey League Coaldale Copperheads, defending South Division past year champions, new season will be starting soon for the Snakes.

Team selection will open up with tryouts at the Snake Pit Arena following September long weekend. Team roster will be selected with first cuts taking place after the first three ice slots of camp.

All players wishing to try out are to pre-register via the link at http://www.coaldalecopperheads.com.

The tryout fee is $125 if registered before Sept. 3.

First skate is set for Thursday, Sept.  5, from 7-10. Players receive a day break and then back on the ice (Saturday, Sept. 7, and Sunday Sept. 8) both from 3-6 p.m.

Following that, opening weekend the Copperheads are scheduled for a home exhibition game on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 7:30 p.m. against the Medicine Hat Cubs.

Admission will be a donation to the Coaldale Food Bank.

Copperheads league schedule is all official and can be located on the league web site (www.heritagejunior.com).

The Home Opener and unveiling of the south banner at the Snake Pit will be Saturday, Sept. 21 at 8:30 p.m. vs. Mountain View Colts.
