Butte teams return to ice for CAHL games

Two Picture Butte Blade teams were on the ice this past weekend as the Central Alberta Hockey League continues in January.

U11

The U11 Blades had one game this past weekend as they hit the road to Coaldale on Sunday for a matchup against the Cobras. The Blades were able to score at will and took the game 11-4. Hunter French, Brady Wasylowich, and Arie Groenenboom all had hat tricks, Nicolas Madsen had a goal and an assist, and Brock Van Raay scored one goal. Jace Realini got the start in net for Butte and the netminder made 21 saves on 25 shots.

The U11 Blades now prepare for their last two games of the month this coming weekend. On Saturday, the team heads to Redcliff for a 1 p.m. game and then on Sunday Fort Macleod comes to Butte for a 10:45 a.m. puck drop.

U13

The U13 Blades were off from CAHL action this past weekend as they regroup for two games this coming weekend. On Friday, the team welcomes in Cardston for a 5 p.m. puck drop. The weekend wraps up on Saturday with a 10:30 a.m. game against Raymond at home.

U15

Only one game was on the schedule this past weekend for the U15 Blades as they travelled to Lethbridge on Saturday for a game. Unfortunately for the Blades, Lethbridge was able to blank the Blades 3-0. Gavin Johnson got the start in net for the Blades and the goalie was sharp making 36 saves on 39 shots.

The month for U15 wraps up next weekend with one last game as the Blades welcome in Taber on Saturday for a 12:45 p.m. game.
