It’s the fall season, and the Town of Picture Butte is urging citizens to participate in a fall cleanup in the upcoming weeks.

Fall cleanup is an excellent option for dealing with autumn leaves, broken branches, or other debris on your grounds. Slippery leaves and larger branches can obstruct walkways or create slip and fall hazards for your vistors, tenants, and customers.

Items that are permitted are tires, appliances, furniture, paint, and mattresses. Yard waste must not be in a plastic bag, and scrap metal and items that aren’t allowed are appliances with freon and hazardous and explosive materials.

Materials of disposal should be placed in the alley by 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 29, for removal by public works. These items should be neatly stacked and bundled where possible. The last day for grass clipping and leaves will be Tuesday, Nov. 2.

“It runs for one week during the fall as well as another week in the spring. Residents can put out their items for pickup during the week. It is a great chance for people to clean up their yards and get rid of things that have been hanging around and keep Picture Butte looking great,” said Chantel Johnson, administrative assistant for the Town of Picture Butte.

“It is also great for those residents that are unable to make the trip to the dump. Throughout the summer, we also offer grass/leaf pickup every Tuesday and branch pick up on the last Tuesday of the month. Fall Cleanup comes at the end of that summer service,” added Johnson.

If you have any questions regarding fall cleanup, contact the Town shop at 403-732-4881, or you can visit the town’s website for more information.
