I began this journey four years ago when Coalhurst elected me to serve, and many of the reasons I ran then remain true today. I love this community and want to help it reach its full potential. The places we live shape us—they influence how we connect, grow, and thrive.
As both a councillor and an architect, I bring a design-thinking mindset to town building: taking what already works well and enhancing it through thoughtful, creative, and practical solutions. Big decisions and meaningful projects take time, focus, and persistence. I believe in moving the dial one tick at a time—making steady, well-researched progress toward the vision our community shares.
Coalhurst is on the verge of exciting growth, and I want to continue building on the foundation we’ve laid together—strengthening our infrastructure, supporting local opportunities, and keeping the community spirit that makes Coalhurst special. I hope residents will support me in continuing this important work and shaping the next chapter of Coalhurst’s future.
Jesse and his wife Melissa have called Coalhurst home since 2015, where they’re raising their four children. Drawn by the town’s small-town character and strong sense of community, they’ve built lasting friendships and want to help preserve and enhance what makes Coalhurst special.
As an architect, Jesse’s work focuses on public projects—schools, park buildings, and fire halls—giving him a firsthand understanding of how the built environment shapes everyday life. His approach blends optimism and practicality, asking clear, focused questions to get to the root of issues and seeking creative, win-win solutions that serve both residents and taxpayers.
Jesse brings that same thoughtful, design-driven perspective to his work on council, emphasizing accountability, collaboration, and long-term value for the community he and his family are proud to call home. He also serves as second vice president of the Lethbridge Construction Association, connecting Coalhurst to the broader building and development community across southern Alberta.
