Farmers, livestock producers, agri-food businesses, and anyone interested in sustainability and innovation in agriculture are invited to register for Lethbridge County’s Innovations in the Field event on Wednesday, June 10.
This free event, co-hosted by Foothills Forage and Grazing Association offers informative presentations, hands-on learning, and opportunities to connect with local organizations and producers.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the County’s Nolan Hill grader camp at NE-22-10-20-W4; south of the Oldman River, west of Highway 845.
The event will include:
• Presentations:
– Gopher control & practical pest management
– Water quality for better cattle health
– Soil & plant tissue sampling insights
– Renewable energy opportunities for agriculture
• Breakout sessions:
– Hands-on pasture health assessments
– Invasive weed identification & management
• Booths from local organizations
“We’re excited to host this event for the first time in partnership with Foothills Forage and Grazing Association,” says Matthew Wells, specialist, Rural Extension with Lethbridge County. “This is a great opportunity for producers to gain relevant, practical knowledge on the latest innovations in agriculture and learn new skills alongside their peers.”
Parking and a complimentary lunch will be provided. This is a rain-or-shine event, so please dress accordingly.
