Lethbridge County Coun. Klaas VanderVeen resigns from council

Division Six Councillor Klaas VanderVeen has resigned his position on council, effective May 15. Coun. VanderVeen is moving out of the Division and will therefore no longer be eligible to serve as councillor under the Alberta Municipal Government Act. 

He tendered his resignation following the May 15 regular council meeting.

With the municipal election being held this coming October, a by-election will not be held for the vacancy.

“It has been a true privilege to serve the residents of Lethbridge County since 2017,” said VanderVeen. “This role has been immensely rewarding and I am grateful for the chance to connect with and collaborate alongside so many outstanding individuals during my time on council.”

Division Six is located in the centre of Lethbridge County and includes the hamlet of Shaughnessy. For details of the division, a map is available on Lethbridge County’s website http://www.lethcounty.ca
