Coaldale Public Library is hosting yet another Lego club event.

The public library wants to invite children in grades 1 through 6 to build, create, and play with Legos, followed by a tasty snack. This event runs every Tuesday from 3:30 till 4:30 pm.

“Each week for Lego club, we have kids come and explore creativity with Lego in a collaborative environment. We normally have weekly challenges for participants for the last twenty or so minutes, and then afterwards, we give each kid a snack before they head out. That is the gist of Lego Club,” said Morgan Sorensen, Program Coordinator of the Coaldale Public Library.

Coaldale Public Library is a proud member of Chinook Arch Regional Library System, a cooperative of 33 public libraries in Southwest Alberta. With your library membership, you have access to the collections and resources of all Chinook Arch member libraries.

The Coaldale Public Library is committed to maintaining current, high-interest materials, in various formats, for people of all ages and enthusiasms.

Many other activities for the kids through January include family literacy day, which runs on Jan 26, and it starts at 11 am for a family Storytime and scavenger hunt. After school is out, join us at 4 pm for a sing-along with local musician Trevor Christensen. Sing along with him and entertain this unique live music event that the whole family will love.

The library will also be giving away prizes through this event. Another event during January is an adult book club that meets at the end of the month to discuss popular and new fiction in various genres. Still, due to COVID many of the members who attend are held the over Zoom.

Events during February are Fundamental Digital Literacy Skills in Digital Media, a class held by the Coaldale Public Library, which is a free class to learn more about digital media. The library also noted that the classes are planned for an in-person event. It may change to a virtual event if new restrictions are announced.
