Cpl Paul Bedard of the Picture Butte RCMP detachment advises that the RCMP will be conducting enforcement operations focused on distracted and impaired driving across Alberta over Victoria Day long weekend.

The RCMP want to remind Albertans to buckle up, slow down, put the cellphone away and enjoy the ride. Everyone knows that drinking and driving is a no go. Drinking too much in any setting can be dangerous – especially when boats or ATV’s are involved.

Cpl Bedard advises that enforcement actions will be focused on local roadways as well as at Park Lake and Keho Lake due to the increased attendance to these areas. Picture Butte RCMP will be out ensuring that the roads are safe and free from impaired drivers, speeders and distracted drivers. Please be sure to obey posted speed limits, wear your seatbelt, watch for motorcyclists and pedestrians, don’t drive distracted and don’t drink and drive.
