Starting November 1, all Lethbridge Regional Waste Management Services Commission (LRWMSC) transfer stations will have a consistent operating schedule of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. year-round
Operating hours previously changed at Daylight Savings Time, but as Alberta no longer changes its clocks, Lethbridge County is replacing summer and winter hours with one simple schedule all year. That also means longer hours over the winter, an added convenience for users.
The Coaldale and Picture Butte stations are open Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. The Iron Springs and Nobleford stations are open Thursday, Friday and Saturday. These sites accept a wide variety of items, including household garbage, yard waste, electronics such as televisions and computers, tires, wood and more.
Residents of Lethbridge County, Picture Butte or Nobleford are part of the LRWMSC, and can use any transfer station for free, for most items. Residents of other communities are welcome to utilize these sites as well, however fees apply, so check with the attendant when you arrive.
The transfer stations are here to make it easy to get rid of waste the right way. Dumping garbage in ditches, coulees or on public or private land is illegal, and so is burning anything other than yard waste. Fines apply.
Not sure if a transfer station can take your item(s) – call DBS Environmental at 403-328-4833. For transfer station locations and accepted materials, visit https://lethcounty.ca/p/transfer-stations
The Lethbridge Regional Waste Management Services Commission is a partnership between Lethbridge County, the Town of Picture Butte and the Town of Nobleford. The Commission plans and runs waste and recycling services for the region, including transfer stations and recycling trailers.
