Coaldale Copperheads hockey update

Posted on January 24, 2017 by Sunny South News

According to the Coaldale Copperheads, the team finds themselves in a 2017 drought, since the team hasn’t been able to win a game since Jan. 5.
Match-ups against top-end teams finds the team on a six-game current losing streak.
It’s not like the team has been blown away — most of the games, the team has lost by either one goal situations and a heartbreaker overtime loss against Okotoks. The team currently sits in third place in the south, which will gain them a playoff position (20-12-2).
The team only has two more home regular season games.
This Saturday, the team will meet the Medicine Hat Cubs on home ground at 8 p.m.
This game will feature a student toonie night special for admission.
Last home game will be Feb. 4, against Strathmore, which will honour the annual fan appreciation night.
A reminder to use up game tickets for those two mentioned games, as the tickets are not valid come playoffs.
This past two weekend summaries are as follows:
Jan. 14 — overtime loss 6-5 against Okotoks (goal scorers Isiah Day Chief, Tyler Anderson, Matt Nadeau, Ryan Swier, Matt Krusky and goal tender Dylan Swanson faced 41 shots).
Jan. 20 — loss 6-3 in Airdrie (goal scorers Tyler Anderson and two from Calvin Swanson and goal tender Dillan Kelly faced 57 shots).
Jan. 21 — loss 6-5 in Red Deer (goal scorers Austin Huculak, Jonathan Zdan, Ryan Swier and two from Brady Parenteau and goal tender Dylan Swanson started facing 11 shots and Dillan Kelly finished with 20 shots).
